Welcome to our dental home...
Our goal is to provide not just a dental visit- but a dental home. We strive to provide the best care for our all of our patients- infants, children, teens and those with special healthcare needs. You will always see the same doctor when you come for your appointments. Our promise is to treat your children as our own, and to make you feel welcome into our family. Our office was built with children in mind (parents too) and is equipped with the latest in dental technology to make sure your child has access to everything they may need.
When considering treatment options, we will discuss all appropriate options and come up with a custom plan for your individual child. It is important to us that we help to answer any questions you may have regarding your child’s dental care. By starting early with prevention and good habits together we can build a lifelong smile and positive relationships with our team.

Our office will do its best to schedule appointments at your convenience. We find that young or anxious children have a better experience in the morning. At this time of day, children are well rested, refreshed, and more cooperative.
School-aged children can be scheduled throughout the day for routine visits. Sedation appointments are only scheduled in the morning. We would appreciate a 48 hour
For those with sensory processing disorders, we can set aside a special time for your child to have a specific environment with dimmed lights, soothing music, and minimal distractions. Please ask about this when you call.
Payment for professional services is due at the time dental treatment is provided. This includes deductibles and
co-insurance. We are in network with many insurances.
As a courtesy, we will also file insurances that we are not
in network with. We accept cash, personal checks, and most major credit cards.
We create an individualized treatment plan for all patients. Our treatment coordinator will review the recommended treatment and the estimation of your dental insurance reimbursement.
Every effort will be made to provide a treatment plan that fits your timetable and budget and gives your child
the best possible care.
•You will always see the same doctor when you come for your appointments!
•We believe that every child should be treated as they are one of ours.
•A team dedicated to providing the best in pediatric dental care to your children.
• A loving, caring dental home that helps to instill good oral health habits in your children.
•Multitude of treatment methods to include minimally invasive treatment options, sedation, and interceptive orthodontics.

Discover the difference!
I grew up as the middle child of 3 boys in Chapin, SC. Growing up on Lake Murray, any time I was not in school I spent outdoors! As I grew older, I discovered working with children was my passion. I completed my Bachelor’s degree at USC with a degree in Chemistry and taught Chemistry labs for some time before going to the Medical University of South Carolina for Dental School. It was there where I met my wife and fell in love. Upon graduation from dental school, I completed a General Practice Residency at The Ohio State University, with a special interest in hospital and special needs dentistry of all ages. Desiring to specialize in pediatrics, I then went on to complete my specialty training in pediatrics at MUSC. While in residency my education focused on infant oral health, children with special health care needs, hospital dentistry, interceptive orthodontics, craniofacial anomalies and comprehensive pediatric dental care.
Throughout my post-doctoral training I have always sought to deliver quality and compassionate dental care to all my patients. Part of this desire has caused me to continue my learning through continuing education, as well as becoming a Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry, by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. I am also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the MUSC College of Dental Medicine Department of Pediatric Dentistry where I teach residents specializing in Pediatric Dentistry.
As a child with previous dental fears myself, I have the unique perspective in knowing what it feels like to be an anxious child at the dentist. I truly believe that each child is unique and deserves to be treated with kindness. When my wife and I decided to stay in the Lowcountry and start our family after finishing my residency, I wanted to create a place where all children could feel welcome. Oak Landing is the place where everyone can grow from Acorns to Trees.
When I am not seeing patients or teaching, I enjoy spending time with my wife and son. We enjoy eating, walking, and being amazed at the silliness of our Irish-doodle Max.

We are dedicated to great
Coming to the dentist can be a scary thought for many children, but it doesn’t have to be. It is wise to inform your child they will be coming to see the dentist. During this visit we will likely perform an exam, clean their teeth, and apply a fluoride varnish to their teeth; we may also take radiographs if applicable. Many times we will use more age appropriate language to convey to your child what we will be doing. Role playing with your child in advance of the appointment can help make this a pleasant experience for them. During your first visit, you will be introduced to our Pediatric Dental Team, given an office tour and discuss your child’s unique smile and ways to keep it beautiful for years to come.
Oral hygiene instructions will also be given with suggestions to help your child care for their own teeth. In most cases, we will also clean their teeth on this visit, and provide an evaluation that will outline any existing dental problems and proposed treatment.
With young children this can be explained as “counting your teeth,” “brushing your teeth with a special tickling toothbrush,” “painting vitamins on your teeth to make them strong,” and “taking pictures of your teeth.” Role playing these activities with young children prior to your visit may also make the appointment easier for them. Many children can form views of the dentist from what they have seen/heard in their parents, friends or siblings. It’s best to start off with being positive, and excited about this first visit to help them start on the right foot. We believe that parents have a huge responsibility in their children’s oral health. Because of this,
we always invite parents to come back to the exam room with their children and share the experience.
Just like some words can have a positive impact, others can carry a negative impact with them. Certain negative words should be avoided prior to, or even during the dental visit. Avoiding words like “drill, shot, yank, pull, hold down, etc” will allow all children to better familiarize to this new environment. We believe in being honest with every patient, but we find that using different, developmental and child appropriate terms greatly helps to allay fears.
In accordance with the AAPD(American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry) and the ADA (American Dental Association) we endorse that a children see a dentist by age one. This is done to establish a dental home and begin to build that relationship that creates trust over time. Early preventative visits are easy for patients and have been shown to be a cost savings to parents over time. This also helps foster positive dental attitudes and healthy habits early in life.
Please complete the First Visit Forms prior to the appointment.
It helps us to learn more about your child in advance to the appointment.
Dr. Gabe is a Board Certified pediatric dentist.
He specializes in the treatment and prevention of dental disease, as well as the overall oral health of children. Through 2 extra years of schooling, training, experience, and certification, a pediatric dentist is uniquely qualified to treat the dental needs of infants, children, adolescents and those with special healthcare needs.
Benefits of Choosing a Pediatric Dentist:
• Pediatric based dental care.
• 2 years extra training.
• Child-friendly environment.
• Provides a dental home from infant to college.
Why Choose a Pediatric Dentist?
A pediatric patient not only has a different dentition than adults but he/she may have specific dental and behavioral needs that are unique to a child. These needs may include orthodontics, dental sealants, fluoride applications or home treatments, or just simply education in oral hygiene. In addition to treating existing dental problems, our office focuses on prevention through patient and parent education.
We like to feel that you and your child do not come to our office to have their “cavities fixed” but rather to prevent them. Our mission is to provide all of the educational tools necessary for our patients to enjoy a cavity-free future.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry encourages parents and other care providers to help every child establish a dental home by 12 months of age. Establishing a dental home provides some key components to dental care for your child including...
• Comprehensive oral health care including acute
care and preventive services.
• Individualized preventive dental health program
based upon a caries-risk assessment.
• Anticipatory guidance regarding growth
• Plan for acute dental trauma (emergencies).
• Dietary counseling.
• Oral hygiene instruction
• Coordination with other dental specialties to ensure each child receives the best in dental care.
