COVID-19

Dear OLPD Family,

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While some of the restrictions are being lifted within our state, one thing has remained the same: OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR SAFETY.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations. You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • We will be personally calling each patient several days prior to their appointment to complete our Covid-19 screening assessment. You will be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
  • Upon entering the office, you will notice that our waiting room has changed slightly, and we have temporarily removed magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • In addition your child, as well as their guardians temperature will be taken upon entering the waiting room.  Hand sanitizer stations are prepared throughout our office as well.
  • We request that all guardians, bring their own mask to wear, as well as children over the age of 7.  If you do not have a mask, we will provide one for you.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We have also allowed extra time between appointments to disinfect the office between patients.
  • We are requesting that only parents, and the child being seen for their appointment come in the office. All other children, and adults will be asked to remain in the car.

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at (843) 900-4490. Thank you for being our patient. We value the trust that you place in us for your children’s care!

Thank you all!
